Fixing A PS3 Disc Read Error Quickly and Easily
If your Play Station 3 is starting to act up by freezing and displaying that ominous message about a disc read error, then here’s what you need to do.
First, don’t panic. What you need to do right now is check when the PS warranty expires, or if it is still valid. If it is, then heave a sigh of great relief. Take a deep breath, and call the nearest Sony center. You can request a replacement unit or have your existing unit checked for free. To date, no warranty issued by Sony has ever been rejected or put under question. That is, unless there is some tampering done.
Now, if you PS3 is no longer covered by the warranty, you still have options. You can still bring it to your nearest Sony service station and have them fix it for you. The going rate for repairs is around $150.
You can also try these steps:
• Turn off your PS3, then start
• Remove the cables and put them back again
• Make sure there are no loose cables
• Turn it back on
